PRESS RELEASEAFRICAN UNDERWATER CYBER-SAFARI - THE FIRST ONLINE DIVING REPORT FROM SOUTH AFRICA TO EGYPT London, August 1999 A young couple Charlotte (Charlie) Grahame and Mark Durham, both aged 27, are leaving August, 1999 to begin a year-long adventure to bring the underwater wonders of the East African coast from South Africa to Egypt to Internet adventure seekers. For the first time, cyber addicts will be able to dive underwater along the East African Coast. Armchair explorers will be able to follow Mark and Charlie's progress on their www.divethedream.com website and use it as an information database to plan their own adventures. The couple will be photographically updating the website as they go north from South Africa giving information about dive sites, dive centres and the flora and fauna they have encountered. As they go along, Mark and Charlie will also be completing an Ocean Vigil marine survey. This is an ongoing survey for all sea-users to help record the state of the world's oceans. It is run by the Marine Conservation Society, the UK charity dedicated to the protection of the marine environment. Mark and Charlie have mainly self-funded the trip with help from Scubapro UK, Gibbons Freight Ltd, BF Goodrich and Direct Connection. They are currently recruiting further sponsors. "Dive the dream is the theme of the whole expedition. This trip has always
been our dream and we want to share it. People can follow us on our web-site
and share the adventure without getting their feet wet. We can offer some
tips on how to plan your own trip and, through Ocean Vigil, we hope to
go some way to keeping our seas fit for life so we can share our dream
with future divers." Variations of the press release have been published in the following
